Yeast glucan has positive effects on both specific and non-specific immunity, and its mechanism is through specific binding with immune cell receptors to initiate immune response. The results showed that the inactive yeast significantly increased the contents of TNF-α and IFN-γ in the serum of mice, enhanced the immune function of mice, and had a good effect against salmonella infection in mice.
