YeaVita R: Enhancing Rumen Microbiota and Production Efficiency

1. Yeast Bioactive Substances

Yeast has a history of over 4,000 years of application. As early as 4,500 years ago, ancient Egyptians fermented bread as a staple food, and 3,000 years ago, ancient Chinese used yeast to brew fine wine. In the 17th century, Leeuwenhoek discovered yeast using a microscope. From a modern industrial perspective, the international yeast industry has developed for 200 years, with the Chinese yeast industry developing for over 90 years. The global yeast industry is highly specialized and concentrated of industrialization. Since 1986, Angel Yeast has focused on yeast production for 38 years.

Yeast species are diverse and widely distributed. Yeast, a type of fungi, is a single-celled eukaryotic microorganism. It proliferates in environments high in sugar and slightly acidic. Yeast cells varies in shape, including spherical, oval, and lemon-shaped forms, with sizes ranging from 1 to 5μm in diameter and 5 to 30μm in length.

Yeast is widely used in many industries and is currently the only microorganism product with an annual production exceeding one million tons. The fermentation characteristics include: 1. a short growth cycle (doubling every 1.5-2 hours); 2. to produce abundant metabolic products (such as alcohol, various spirits, glycerol, and enzymes) under anaerobic fermentation; 3. to yield lots of yeast cells or their components under aerobic fermentation. Nutritionally, yeast is high in protein (around 50%), complete in amino acids, rich in B vitamins, nucleic acids, enzymes, and bioactive substances.

YeaVita R bioactive substances include functional peptides, amino acids, nucleotides, yeast beta-glucans, trace elements, glycoproteins, and metabolites such as glutathione, special enzymes, gamma-aminobutyric acid, organic acids, and bio-humic acids. These substances promote intestinal development, enhance immunity, alleviate oxidative stress, and improve production performance.

2. Application Research of YeaVita R

(1) Preventing Acidosis

Research by Sichuan Agricultural University in 2014 demonstrated that YeaVita R promotes the proliferation of lactic acid-utilizing bacteria, inhibits the growth of lactic acid-producing bacteria, and increases lactic acid utilization.

(2) Improving Digestibility

Research by Shengmu High-tech in 2014 showed that YeaVita R significantly reduces nutrient residues in feces. Additionally, studies by Sichuan Agricultural University in 2014 demonstrated that YeaVita R increases the rumen degradation rate of roughage by 5-10%, and studies from Hebei Agricultural University in 2019, China Agricultural University in 2016, and Sichuan Agricultural University in 2014 showed that YeaVita R improves the apparent digestibility of nutrients by 5-20%.

(3) Reducing Methane Emissions

Studies from Jilin Agricultural University in 2013 and Sichuan Agricultural University in 2017, published in high-impact scientific journals, showed that YeaVita R inhibits the proliferation of methanogens, reducing methane emissions.

(4) Improving Rumen Fermentation

YeaVita R has been shown to enhance fermentation characteristics under various feeding levels, improving product quality in terms of meat and milk compared to monensin.

Figure 8. Study on improving characteristics of fermentation under different feeding levels

Figure 9. In vitro fermentation of yeast and animal products (meat, milk) were superior to monensin in quality

(5) Cost Reduction and Efficiency

Improvement A study conducted in collaboration with Angel in 2020 demonstrated that optimizing dietary formulations and addition of YeaVita R can reduce feed costs while improving feed conversion rate, even when the cattle were feed with lower nutrient levels.

In conclusion, YeaVita R effectively regulates rumen microbial community structure, enhances rumen microbial fermentation function, improves product quality at a lower cost, and boosts animal production performance. It holds broad application prospects for healthy and efficient ruminant farming.
