Application of live yeast in the production performance of poultry

1. What is YeaVita

YeaVita is high purity live yeast product for live stock. It is produced by submerged fermentation of specially selected strains of saccharomyces cerevisiae from monogastric animal. Which can adapt to improve the feed digestion via balancing the intestine microflora.

2. Mode of action

2.1 Scavenge oxygen

By scavenging oxygen in animal gut and maintain anaerobic condition that can prohibit some harmful bacteria, like E.coli and Salmonella, and increase some beneficial bacteria, such as Bifidobacteria and Lactic acid Bacteria.

2.2 Excrete digestive enzymes

Yeast cells can excrete many hydrolase,such as protease, amylase, and lipase activities. After yeast cell rupture, yeast-derived protease, amylase and lipase combine with digesta in animal intestines, assist in the digestion of sugars, protein and fat, and improve feed digestibility.

3. Main effects of live yeast on poultry

3.1 Regulation of the intestinal microbiota balance, reduce diarrhea and watery stool

Diarrheal diseases have become one of the common diseases in poultry. Bacterial diseases, such as Escherichia coli, salmonellosis and other bacterial infections, will occur diarrhea diseases caused by enteritis. Yeast consumes the oxygen in the gastrointestinal tract, creates an anaerobic environment, and then suppresses the reproduction of pathogenic bacteria such as E. coli, Salmonella and other bacteria.

3.2 Improve the feed conversion rate, improve the production performance

Yeast helps feed digestion and absorbs nutrients. Live yeast showed a trend of reducing the feed consumption, increasing the average daily weight gain and reducing the material weight ratio of broilers, which could significantly increase the number of yeast in the cecum, while increasing the total number of anaerobic bacteria and reducing the number of E. coli. The use of live yeast in laying hens can significantly increase the laying rate and reduce intestinal disease.

3.3 Application for AGPs-free diet

Yeast can prohibit the growth of pathogens, reduce diarrhea, promote growth, and therefore can replace the use of antibiotics in feed.
