Angel yeast beta-glucan meets the standard of NMR identification of USP/FCC

Different sources of beta-glucan have different molecular structures, which lead to a large distinction on immune activity. The unique molecular structure of yeast beta-1,3-1,6-D-glucan, especially the appropriate ratio of beta-1,6-glycosidic bonds to the total glycosidic bonds, makes it can be recognized quickly by immune cells receptors, resulting in efficient immune regulation . The USP/FCC identification standard requires qualified yeast beta-glucan, whose beta-1,6-glycosidic bonds account for 10-18% of the total glycosidic bonds .

The above figure shows that the ratio of beta-1,6-glycosidic bonds to total glycosidic bonds is 16.81% (analysis method is refer to USP). The ratio of beta-1,6-glycosidic bonds to total glycosidic bonds in Angel yeast beta-glucan is between 10-18%, which meets the requirements of 10% -18% of USP/FCC standard.
The ratio of beta-1,6-glycosidic bonds to total glycosidic bonds is mainly determined by the following factors. First, the selection of suitable yeast strain determines the ratio of beta-1,6-glycosidic bonds to total glycosidic bonds in yeast beta-glucan extracted after fermentation. The second is the production and extraction process of yeast beta-glucan, which also affects the ratio of beta-1,6-glycosidic bonds to total glycosidic bonds.
