On December 29, 2023, Angel won an EcoVadis bronze medal with a score of 54/100 (+7 points compared to 2022), ranking top 42% of globally assessed companies. Regarding this, Angel is not satisfied and is finding the ways to further improve. Currently, the company has been making plans according to the to-be-improved list proved by EcoVadis report.
EcoVadis is the global benchmark for corporate CSR ratings, covering companies' non-financial management systems including Environmental, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement impacts. That's why we have joined in EcoVadis assessment for already three years and kept improving CSR actions.
Environment
EcoVadis report acknowledges that Angel has formulated policies on most environmental issues. Regarding raw materials, chemicals, waste, customer health and safety, water resources, end-of-life products and many other aspects, Angel has published and implemented policies to protect our planet. In addition, Angel has set quantitative indicators for raw materials, chemicals, waste, energy consumption, and greenhouse gases.
In practical action, the report points out that Angel has made contributions to environmental protection through lots of meaningful actions: improving the management of perishable materials through inventory management systems, implementing Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) method, making environmentally friendly or material based raw materials, establishing procedures to ensure traceability of raw materials, etc.
Labor & Human Rights
EcoVadis report points out that a comprehensive policy has been formulated to address the majority of labor and human rights issues in Angel. Angel has policies regarding diversity, equality, and inclusivity, child rearing, forced labor and human trafficking, career management and training, working conditions, employee health and safety, and more.
A valid ISO 45001 certificate covering all of Angel's businesses can be provided. ISO 45001 is an international standard for occupational health and safety management systems. It targets the occupational health and safety issues of employees and includes external audits of the health and safety status of facilities. In order to help employees better balance family and work, Angel has implemented the Family Friendly Program (FFP).
Ethics
In the assessment report, it is noted that Angel has polices for information security and anti-corruption. Angel provides reporting procedures to stakeholders regarding corruption and bribery and anticompetitive behavior.
Sustainable Procurement
EcoVadis assesses Angel's performance at sustainable procurement impact with a score of 70/100, at an advanced/high level (the highest level is excellent). It also says that Angel has established a comprehensive sustainable procurement policy in the fields of environment and society. We have put in place a supplier diversity program (a proactive business program to encourage minority owned businesses or underutilized business groups or small businesses). And many other actions, such as training for procurement personnel on social and environmental issues within the supply chain, have been taken in Angel.
