Using Nutrition to Enhance the Alcohol Fermentation Efficiency of Saccharic-Based Raw Materials

Saccharic-based raw materials such as sugarcane juice, beet juice and molasses are widely used in the production of fuel ethanol in Brazil, Southeast Asian countries, European countries and other regions. Compared with starch-based raw materials, saccharic-based raw materials do not require complex liquefaction and saccharification processes, and their sucrose, glucose, and fructose can be directly utilized by yeast. However, the production of fuel ethanol from saccharic-based materials also faces some problems. For example, sugarcane juice and beet juice lack some nutrients necessary for yeast growth, while molasses contains a large amount of colloid, metal ions and other inhibitors, which affects the fermentation efficiency of yeast.
